This morning we did math, but the rest of the day is scrapbooking past field trips. I've fallen behind horribly in this department and it's probably just as important as any lesson she receives!
After all, scrapbooking encompasses journalism, creative arts, economics (as it starts with a trip to the scrapping store!), and it provides a way for her to really reflect on the trips we've had. It also gives her something to show people when they ask "how do you socialize?".
The hardest part for me? Is letting her do it her way...but look at me over here writing a blog post and not interfering with her creativity. Go me! :)

This morning...
About 5 minutes after this the arguing and complaining started,
but it was a beautiful thing while it lasted :)

Whiners Unite!
I think my Mom and my Daughter ganged up on me to whine about the lack of posting.
But see...between facebook and pinterest, what is there about me that you don't already know?
Life is busy, but there's not a lot that's newsworthy that hasn't been put on facebook but I'll try.
Grant and I watched the movie Forks Over Knives last night, I had watched it before but he hadn't and it was every bit as convicting last night as it was the first time I watched it. We are definitely moving towards a vegetarian lifestyle. Not like freaking out and never eating meat again, just making it more of the exception rather than the rule.
It's not long before Rebekah (the animal lover) makes the connection between meat and dead animals, and when that day comes...well there's going to be a serious water works show. We are currently reading "Charlotte's Web" for school. The first day, part of the assignment was to learn about the term "runt". Which says that the smallest one in the litter is routinely killed by farmers as it's not worth anything and takes away valuable resources. OMG, I thought she was going to hyperventilate. She started bawling and saying how it wasn't fair, it wasn't the little pigs fault that it was born small, and how mean and terrible that was, etc.. Immediately afterwards, she asked for a sausage. I am not even kidding. No, I did NOT tell her.
The next day she cried because I called the cat dumb. Yes, I did. Because you see, I had the back door open, and the cat walked out. When I shut the back door, the cat proceeded to go to the front door and THROW itself repeatedly against the glass, scratching, and howling the whole time. The cat is D-U-M-B! So I said, please let the dumb cat in (because what I really wanted to say was let the f'ing cat in but I thought that would be a little harsh, right?) and she became the defender of all things small that don't speak human...."you can't call him duuuumb, sniff sniff, he's not dummmmmmmmmb, blubber blubber blubber, why are you soooo meeeeeeeeean. Yeah. And then we had a big long discussion about toughening up a little bit cause Mommy's gonna need a drink if you don't. Good grief.
She also cried when we learned that male bees are pretty much only good for mating and then they die. WHY IS THERE SO MUCH DIEING IN THE WORLLLLLLDDDDDD??????? SOB SOB SOB. IT'S SO SAAAAAAAD.
On the up side, our new curriculum from Sonlight is awesome. We get done quicker, it's more interesting, and she actually retains a lot of it. This morning I told her it's Saturday and we don't have school work today and she was disappointed! THAT is pretty dang cool, if ya ask me!
